In the Interest of Interest

I happened across these images, for which I have no source, no amount of Googling gave me the name of the film they are from, but I loved them … Continue reading “In the Interest of Interest”

I call him Darling, Baby, Hunny, Love

Drowning in the sea of love
Where everyone would love to drown

I have always been one for big thoughts and bigger feelings. I remember finding Kafka, reading about existentialism and I remember it hitting me deeply, striking a true chord: these were the questions I had always been considering, thoughts that had consumed me for my entire young life. Why were we here and for what? Life seems so arbitrary and is made even more absurd by the constant repetitive action of nearly each and every human being trying to find divine purpose, a kernel of meaning, a glint of hope that there is some magical ‘more’ that we can aspire to and find, if only we have the mettle. Dr. Selflove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Meme

I don’t like to preface things, but in this case, please indulge me. Before I get into the nitty gritty of this post I want to be very clear that I am only speaking from my perspective and not at all trying to be prescriptive nor adversarial. I’m not trying to “yuck anyone’s yum” I’m trying to reconcile and articulate the complicated response I had to the #30DayOrgasmFun challenge. I’m thinking out loud and you may not agree, that’s fine, but please don’t mistake my point of view for judgment. Continue reading “Dr. Selflove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Meme”

Hook Ups

This is my first submission to Food For Thought Friday and the topic is: Hook Ups. Most of us have had them and I think most people will agree that they can either go very well, or very poorly. In my experience there’s very little in between, or at least they start out well and end horrendously. Am I painting a picture yet of my opinion and experiences? Read on for some detailed accounts of my no strings attached sex life … Continue reading “Hook Ups”

Smut Marathon 2018: surviving round 1

For those of you following along at home, Smut Marathon 2018 is an epic writing competition hosted by Marie Rebel of Rebel’s Notes. She has built an intricate and exciting series of challenges for erotica writers from around the globe to participate in and let me tell you, it is off to a rip roaring start.  Seventy five writers posted erotic metaphors, and luckily no one was eliminated in this round, but what a fascinating spectrum of entries. Radical Self Love

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and all I’m reading and hearing is frustration and resentment about the day. I get it; Valentine’s Day is wildly over commercialized, rather heteronormative and has a dodgy history. I also think that in a world literally gone mad, a day dedicated to love cannot be wrong. Continue reading “Radical Self Love”

All Mine

I’ve just slipped into bed when I hear you downstairs, whistling at the back door to call the dogs in for the night. I hear you speak to them lovingly, their feet click-clacking on the hardwood floors. I know that once you’ve sent them to their beds you will lock the doors and turn out all the lights and then take the stairs two at a time, arriving in the doorway of the bedroom with light in your eyes and a smile meant only for me.
